Baylor Film & Digital Media
Students graduating from the Department of Film & Digital Media Studies have contributed to the production of major motion films and television series, films such as The Blindside and Saving Mr. Banks. Excited to learn from the best teachers in the film and digital media industry, I eagerly applied to this program where I would learn theoretical knowledge as well as technical production skills, all needed to develop as a professional. This program provided me experience with script writing, storyboarding, shooting, directing, lighting, and editing. The program also granted me an internship opportunity through their Baylor in New York Program. This allowed me to gain real world experience while remaining a student.
I graduated from Baylor University in 2019 with a BA in Film & Digital Media.

Baylor Football: Hype Videos
These videos were a “pet project” of mine, created to increase excitement about the upcoming 2019 football season. The videos showcase my storytelling through editing skills. Since I was not a Baylor Athletics employee, I did not have footage readily available to use for these videos. However, I scoured YouTube and Twitter to find footage and audio clips useful for creating the stories I wanted to tell.
What's Next!
"What's Next!" became the motto of the team during the 2018 season. I created this video to be a highlights reel, showcasing where the team had been but leaving the conclusion open ended.
To The House
This video focuses on the audio element, requiring me to scour broadcast videos and snag clips of the broadcasters covering the game. My goal was to have the audio tell the story of Baylor's season’s success, while the video would show the players gearing up for the next matchup.
Internal Vice President Campaign Video
This promotional video “hypes” the campaign message for a student running for re-election during Baylor student elections. Internal Vice President Re-elect Candidate Elizabeth Larson wanted to convey the motto "It's game time.” I shot scenes around the football stadium and the RGIII statue. I also shot scenes of her standing by the parking space counter outside the parking garage and outside of Parking Services, since her goal was to be an advocate for student parking on campus.
Illumination Example Project
This is a short project that was completed in my Lighting & Cinematography class. We were split into 2 groups and had 90 minutes to set up a professional mock interview from scratch. The most difficult part was adjusting each individual light to get the exact look we wanted and getting the work completed in the short amount of time we were allotted.
Island Party Promotional Video
As an “Island Party” Chair and as the Social Media Chair in my fraternity, BYX, I was responsible for making the promo video for the event. I assembled a small crew and solicited actors within the fraternity to make this short video in time to promote the event. Advertising required me to push this video to as many people as I could using social media.
AMCHS Audio/Video Production
Skills learned through high school AV productions
Lessons learned from high school AV productions
- During production: Using lights, recording audio separately, writing and recording original music, creating sound effects, using many different lenses, and shooting at different locations
- Preparing for production: drafting a script, drawing a storyboard, gathering my props, finding actors, reserving the appropriate camera and microphone equipment, and learning new technology (for example, editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro).
Lessons learned from high school AV productions
- Collaborating with teammates who differ on how the work should be completed and what the final version should look like requires conflict management and teamwork skills.
- Working with child actors requires flexibility in scheduling and good communication skills to ensure the work gets done effectively and on time.
- Preparing a film for the final cut requires a great deal of time and patience. For example, one project took 14 hours to produce for 1 minute of visual effects.
